Soldier Piles and Lagging (Berlin Wall)

Soldier piles and lagging shoring wall, commonly known as Berlin wall, consists mostly of steel piles (H/I profile) installed at regular intervals varies between 1.5 m to 3.0 m on center. The space between the soldier piles is filled with lagging which consists of different material includes timber, shotcrete & precast concrete panels. This shoring system is the most common shoring solution for urban construction, specifically if the excavation depth is moderate and the site surrounding structures are allowing. It is one of the most cost-effective shoring systems.
